​Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle advance to EFL Cup quarter-finals as we await Tottenham vs United result

Dec 19th, 2024 - The English League Cup Quarter-Finals started with three matches in the early hours of this morning. In the three matches that have been completed, Arsenal eliminated Crystal Palace 3-2 at home, Liverpool eliminated Southampton 2-1 on the road, and Newcastle United eliminated Brentford 3-1 at home by virtue of Tonali's second goal and Scheer's goal.


With this, three of the top four spots in this season's English League Cup are confirmed.

The final spot will be between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, who will host United in the League Cup quarter-finals in the early hours of tomorrow morning. After the quarter-finals are decided, the League Cup will be drawn for the semi-finals.

According to last season's EFL announcement, this season's English League Cup semi-finals will still be decided by a two-legged home and away tie.
